Fasco Epoxies 103LVX Slow Hardener is a premium low-viscosity epoxy hardener formulated for use with Fasco 103LVX Resin. Designed for fiberglass laminating, composite construction, and marine repairs, it provides an extended working time for larger projects, superior fiberglass wet-out, and strong, durable bonds with minimal air bubbles. Mixes at a 2:1 ratio (Resin to Hardener).
Fasco Epoxies 103LVX Slow Hardener is a professional-grade curing agent engineered to be used with Fasco 103LVX Low Viscosity Epoxy Resin. Its extended open time makes it ideal for large laminating projects, complex fiberglass layups, wood encapsulation, and applications where additional working time is needed for precise resin placement and bubble removal.
When mixed at the recommended 2:1 ratio, the system produces a low-viscosity epoxy that thoroughly wets fiberglass cloth, carbon fiber, Kevlar®, and other reinforcement fabrics. The slow cure allows the resin to penetrate deeply into fibers while reducing trapped air, resulting in stronger, smoother laminates with excellent mechanical properties.
Beyond composite laminating, the 103LVX system bonds exceptionally well to fiberglass, wood, metal, and concrete. It is commonly used for boat building, marine repairs, structural bonding, concrete crack repair, warehouse floor coatings, and heavy-duty non-skid surfaces. The epoxy can also be combined with fillers or sand to create high-strength repair compounds for industrial and commercial applications.
At 72–80°F, the Slow Hardener provides approximately 30 minutes of working time, with a gel time of 4–6 hours (thin coats), set time of 6–8 hours (thin coats), and a full cure in approximately 24 hours, with maximum properties developing in up to 72 hours. Thicker applications and warmer temperatures will shorten cure times, while thinner applications and cooler temperatures will extend them.
