WEST SYSTEM® 206 Slow Hardener is a high-performance, low-viscosity epoxy curing agent engineered exclusively for use with WEST SYSTEM® 105 Epoxy Resin at a 5:1 resin-to-hardener ratio. It is ideal for projects that require additional working time, making it an excellent choice for large laminations, complex assemblies, fiberglass repairs, and wood encapsulation.

Designed for use in temperatures from approximately 60°F to 90°F (16°C to 32°C), 206 Slow Hardener allows users more time for accurate positioning, wetting out fiberglass, and applying multiple layers before the epoxy begins to gel. Once cured, it creates a durable, high-strength, moisture-resistant bond with outstanding adhesion to wood, fiberglass, composites, metals, concrete, and many properly prepared substrates.

When combined with WEST SYSTEM 105 Epoxy Resin, the system offers approximately:

        • Mix Ratio: 5 parts 105 Resin to 1 part 206 Hardener
        • Pot Life: 20–25 minutes (100 g mass at 72°F / 22°C)
        • Working Time: 90–110 minutes (thin film)
        • Solid Cure: 10–15 hours at 72°F (22°C)

WEST SYSTEM 206 Slow Hardener is ideal for:

        • Boat building and marine repairs
        • Fiberglass laminating and composite fabrication
        • Structural bonding and adhesive applications
        • Woodworking and furniture construction
        • Barrier coating and moisture protection
        • Gap filling when combined with WEST SYSTEM fillers

The extended open time helps reduce stress during large or detailed projects while still delivering the exceptional strength, durability, and water resistance WEST SYSTEM epoxy is known for. For accurate dispensing, use WEST SYSTEM Mini Pumps or carefully measure the recommended 5:1 mix ratio. The cured epoxy sands, machines, and finishes easily, making it suitable for professional builders and DIY users alike.

Note: 206 Slow Hardener has an amber color and is intended primarily for structural bonding, laminating, and coating applications. For projects requiring a clear, blush-free finish, WEST SYSTEM 207 Special Clear Hardener may be a better choice.
