WEST SYSTEM® 207 Special Clear Hardener is a high-performance, low-viscosity epoxy curing agent formulated exclusively for use with WEST SYSTEM® 105 Epoxy Resin at a 3:1 resin-to-hardener ratio. Developed specifically for applications requiring a clear, attractive finish, 207 produces a hard, moisture-resistant epoxy with excellent clarity, reduced amine blush, and enhanced UV resistance compared to standard epoxy hardeners.

Ideal for bright-finished wood projects, fiberglass laminating, clear coating, composite construction, and marine repairs, 207 Special Clear Hardener wets out fiberglass fabrics easily while maintaining outstanding optical clarity. Its low-blush chemistry minimizes surface preparation between coats, reducing sanding and cleanup while improving overall finishing results.

When mixed with WEST SYSTEM 105 Epoxy Resin, the system provides approximately:

        • Mix Ratio: 3 parts 105 Resin to 1 part 207 Hardener
        • Pot Life: 20–26 minutes (100 g mass at 72°F / 22°C)
        • Working Time: 90–110 minutes (thin film)
        • Solid Cure: 10–15 hours at 72°F (22°C)

WEST SYSTEM 207 Special Clear Hardener is ideal for:

        • Clear coating and wood encapsulation
        • Bright-finish boat construction and restoration
        • Fiberglass cloth wet-out and composite laminating
        • Marine repairs requiring a clear finish
        • Carbon fiber and decorative composite projects
        • Furniture, cabinetry, and architectural woodworking

The cured epoxy develops exceptional adhesion to wood, fiberglass, carbon fiber, metals, and other properly prepared substrates, while providing excellent moisture resistance and long-term durability. Its improved UV stability helps preserve the appearance of clear-coated wood and composites, although a quality marine varnish or UV-protective topcoat is still recommended for prolonged outdoor exposure.

For best results, dispense with WEST SYSTEM Mini Pumps designed for the 3:1 mixing ratio, or carefully measure the resin and hardener by volume. The result is a crystal-clear, professional-quality finish trusted by boat builders, woodworkers, and composite fabricators worldwide.
