        Black Marine Gelcoat (No Wax) is a premium NPG-Isophthalic polyester gelcoat formulated for marine, automotive, and fiberglass composite applications. This unwaxed (laminating) gelcoat provides a durable, high-gloss black finish with outstanding UV, water, chemical, and weather resistance. Designed for multiple coat applications, it remains tacky until a wax additive or final waxed coat is applied. MEKP catalyst required (sold separately or available as an option).

        Black Marine Gelcoat (No Wax)

        Our Black Marine Gelcoat (No Wax) is a premium NPG-Isophthalic polyester gelcoat engineered to provide a durable, high-gloss black finish for fiberglass and composite parts. Designed for marine environments and demanding composite applications, it delivers outstanding resistance to UV exposure, moisture, chemicals, staining, and weathering while helping protect the underlying laminate for years of service. 

        This non-waxed (laminating) gelcoat remains slightly tacky after curing, allowing additional layers of gelcoat or fiberglass laminate to chemically bond without sanding between coats. This makes it an excellent choice for new part construction, fiberglass repairs, mold building, and projects requiring multiple gelcoat applications. For the final coat, wax additive or a waxed gelcoat should be used to achieve a fully cured, non-tacky surface.

        Manufactured with a premium NPG-ISO resin system, this gelcoat provides exceptional weatherability, water resistance, toughness, and crack resistance. The acrylic-modified formulation helps produce a smooth, pinhole-free finish when properly applied and offers excellent long-term durability in marine environments.

        MEKP Catalyst Options

        We offer three catalyst sizes to match your purchase:

        • 15cc – Enough catalyst for 1 quart at approximately 2%
        • 30cc – Enough catalyst for 1 gallon at approximately 0.75%
        • 60cc – Enough catalyst for 1 gallon at approximately 2%

        If you are working in temperatures below 75°F, we recommend selecting the 60cc catalyst with each gallon to ensure you have enough catalyst available for proper curing.
