Duratec 904-001 Clear Hi-Gloss Additive is an industry-leading additive developed to enhance the performance and finish of polyester gelcoats. Trusted by marine, automotive, and composite professionals for decades, this additive converts traditional gelcoat into an air-curing system that produces a smooth, porcelain-hard, high-gloss surface that is easy to sand, buff, and polish.

Designed for both new construction and repair work, Duratec 904-001 significantly improves gelcoat flow, atomization, and leveling during spray application. It helps eliminate common issues such as low-gloss repair halos, surface porosity, and orange peel while producing a flatter, more professional finish. Because it air cures, it removes the need for wax additives or PVA in many finishing applications. 

Duratec 904-001 can be blended with most polyester gelcoats for repairs, complete resurfacing, and plug or mold manufacturing. Typical repair blends include a 50/50 mix with gelcoat for general repairs or a 25/75 Duratec-to-gelcoat blend when maximum color hiding is required. It may also be added at 10–25% to tooling gelcoat to improve spray characteristics and flow. Always catalyze the final mixture with 2% MEKP and perform a test panel before production use.
