        Black Marine Gelcoat (With Wax) is a premium NPG-Isophthalic polyester gelcoat formulated for marine, automotive, and fiberglass composite applications. This waxed (finishing) gelcoat cures to a hard, non-tacky, high-gloss black finish with outstanding UV, water, chemical, and weather resistance. Ideal as the final finish coat for new construction, repairs, and restoration projects. MEKP catalyst required (sold separately or available as an option).

        Black Marine Gelcoat (With Wax)

        Our Black Marine Gelcoat (With Wax) is a premium NPG-Isophthalic polyester gelcoat engineered to provide a durable, high-gloss black finish for fiberglass and composite parts. Designed for marine environments and demanding composite applications, it delivers outstanding resistance to UV exposure, moisture, chemicals, staining, and weathering while protecting the underlying laminate for years of service. 

        This waxed (finishing) gelcoat contains a wax additive that rises to the surface during curing, sealing out oxygen and allowing the gelcoat to cure to a hard, smooth, non-tacky finish. It is intended for use as the final coat in fiberglass layups, repairs, refinishing, and restoration projects. Unlike unwaxed gelcoat, additional coats will require sanding to ensure proper adhesion.

        Manufactured with a premium NPG-ISO resin system, this gelcoat provides exceptional weatherability, water resistance, toughness, and crack resistance. The acrylic-modified formulation helps produce a smooth, pinhole-free finish when properly applied and offers excellent long-term durability in harsh marine environments.

        MEKP Catalyst Options

        We offer three catalyst sizes to match your purchase:

        • 15cc – Enough catalyst for 1 quart at approximately 2%
        • 30cc – Enough catalyst for 1 gallon at approximately 0.75%
        • 60cc – Enough catalyst for 1 gallon at approximately 2%

        If you are working in temperatures below 75°F, we recommend selecting the 60cc catalyst with each gallon to ensure you have enough catalyst available for proper curing.
