This product is supplied as a non-wax gelcoat, meaning it will remain slightly tacky after curing when exposed to air. This characteristic allows additional layers of gelcoat or fiberglass laminate to chemically bond without sanding between coats. For the final coat, a wax additive should be added or a waxed finishing gelcoat should be used to achieve a fully cured, tack-free surface.

Catalyzation

This gelcoat requires MEKP catalyst for proper curing. Catalyst percentages vary based on temperature and working conditions. Always review the MEKP catalyst chart prior to use and follow all recommended safety precautions.

Important Note About Non-Wax Gelcoat

Non-wax gelcoat is intended for applications where additional layers will be applied. Because oxygen inhibits the surface cure, the finish will remain slightly tacky after curing. If this is your final coat, add wax solution or use a waxed finishing gelcoat to achieve a hard, sandable surface.
