Fiberglass Supply Depot Neutral ISO Polyester Gelcoat is a professional-grade, non-waxed gelcoat specifically formulated for custom color creation and high-performance fiberglass finishing. Manufactured using a premium isophthalic polyester resin system, this gelcoat delivers excellent durability, weather resistance, gloss retention, and long-term performance in demanding environments.

The neutral base is designed to accept pigments and colorants, allowing users to create virtually unlimited custom colors while maintaining the protective and cosmetic benefits of a premium gelcoat finish.

Because this gelcoat contains no wax, it remains slightly tacky after curing when exposed to air. This characteristic makes it ideal for applications requiring multiple layers, as additional coats can be applied without sanding between coats. For the final coat, wax additive or a waxed gelcoat should be used to achieve a fully cured, tack-free surface.

Why Use Neutral Gelcoat?

Neutral gelcoat provides maximum flexibility for creating custom colors. Unlike pre-pigmented gelcoats, the neutral base can be tinted with polyester-compatible pigments to closely match existing finishes or create entirely new colors while maintaining the durability and protection expected from a premium gelcoat system.

Catalyst Information

This gelcoat requires MEKP catalyst for proper curing. Catalyst percentages should be adjusted based on temperature and working conditions. Always follow recommended catalyst guidelines and perform color testing prior to large-scale applications.

Important Note

This is a non-waxed gelcoat. The surface will remain slightly tacky after curing when exposed to air. This is normal and beneficial when applying multiple coats. For the final coat, add wax solution (tack-free additive) or use a waxed gelcoat to achieve a fully cured, sandable, and polishable finish.

Storage Recommendations

Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Keep containers tightly sealed when not in use to maximize shelf life and product performance.
