Sikaflex®-291 White

Sikaflex®-291 is a professional-grade, multipurpose polyurethane adhesive and sealant specifically developed for marine construction, maintenance, and repair applications. This one-component, moisture-curing formula creates a durable, permanently elastic seal that helps accommodate movement and vibration commonly encountered in marine environments.

Sikaflex®-291 provides excellent adhesion to a wide variety of materials commonly used in boatbuilding and repair, including wood, metals, properly prepared metal primers and two-component paint coatings, ceramic materials, fiberglass (GRP), and compatible plastics. Its non-sag consistency makes it well suited for vertical and overhead applications as well as standard horizontal joints.

Ideal for sealing deck fittings, fixtures, rub rails, through-hull fittings, hatches, vents, deck-to-hull areas, and a variety of interior marine components, Sikaflex®-291 combines reliable sealing performance with light-duty bonding capability. Once cured, the material remains elastic and vibration resistant, helping maintain a durable seal as components move or flex during operation.

Additional advantages include good aging and weathering resistance, low odor, non-corrosive properties, and the ability to be sanded or overpainted after curing when appropriate. The product has an application temperature range of approximately 41°F to 104°F (5°C to 40°C) and a typical skin time of approximately 60 minutes at 73°F and 50% relative humidity.

Note: Sikaflex®-291 should not be used on plastics susceptible to stress cracking, including materials such as Plexiglas® (PMMA) and polycarbonate. Always verify substrate compatibility and follow Sika's current surface-preparation and application instructions.
